Prunus transarisanensis Hayata f. taiheiensis Suzuki in Ann. Rep. Taihoku Bot. Gard. 1: 148. 1931.
- Deciduous tree. Leaves oblong-ovate, long-acuminate, broadly acute to rounded at base, glandular-serrulate, with a pair of glands at the base; stipules linear, glandular-serrate at top, hirsute inside; bracts fan-shaped, glandular- serrate at top. Flowers 3-5-fascicled,white, about 2.5 cm across; calyx tubular, the lobes triangular to lanceolate, coarsely serrate; petals ovate to oblong, emarginate, about 8 mm long, 5-7 mm wide; stamens about 30.
Endemic. Known only from the type locality, Taipingshan, at ca. 2,000 m. ILAN: Taipingshan, Suzuki 3954.

- A medium-sized tree. Leaves ovate to ovate-oblong, 4—5 cm long, caudate- acuminate at apex, acute at base, glabrous above, pubescent beneath; petioles glabrous; stipules obovate, serrate above, pubescent within. Flowers 2—3-fascicu- late; calyx campanulate; petals white, rounded to ovate, 8—10 mm long, 7—9 mm wide, rounded or slightly emarginate; stamens about 30, 4-7 mm long; style about 1 cm long.
Endemic. Known from the original collection from Mt. Lala of northern Taiwan only. No specimen seen.

- A small shrubby tree. Leaves membranaceous, ovate-oblong, 3—5.5 cm long, 1.5—2.5 cm wide, caudate-acuminate, truncate to rounded-truncate or obtuse at base, sharply serrulate, glabrous except pubescent in the axils of lateral veins on lower surface, the midrib slightly impressed above, raised beneath, the lateral veins 6—7 per side, more or less inconspicuous; petioles about 8 mm long, densely hirsute above, with 2 glands; stipules linear, glabrous, 3—5 mm long, glandular-ciliate along margins. Flowers 2—3-fasciculate; pedicels about 7 mm long, hirsute; calyx glabrous, tubular-campanulate, about 8 mm long, green, the lobes triangular -oblong, about 3 mm long, 2.5 mm wide; petals whitish or light pink, oblong, about 7 mm long, 4.5—5 mm wide.
Endemic. Known from the original collection from Mt. Alishan at an altitude of 2,500 m by Kanehira, Tanaka & Hayata in 1914. No other specimen seen.
