Evergreen shrubs or small trees. Twigs dark brown, terete; young twigs green, slender, slightly ridged below petioles, glabrous. Terminal buds small, ovoid to subulate, apex acute, glabrous except the ciliate margin of the scales. Leaves: blades chartaceous, elliptic to ovate, 3-6 cm long, 1-3 cm wide, apex long caudate with apiculate tip, base rounded to acute, margin glandular-serrate with teeth 1-3 mm apart, glabrous; midrib slightly impressed above, prominent beneath; nerves 4-6 pairs, meeting an intramarginal vein, slightly prominent beneath; petioles glabrous, 2-5 mm long. Inflorescence axillary, a lax raceme, 2 to 8-flowered, to 3 cm long; axis and pedicels glabrous or slightly pilose at the bracteal nodes, slender; bracts usually caducous, ovate to triangular, keeled, acute at apex, 1-1.5 mm long, glabrous except ciliate margin; bracteoles 2, persistent or caducous, ovate, keeled, glandular apiculate at apex, glabrous except ciliate margin, 0.7-1 mm long; pedicels to 15 mm long. Flowers: calyx tube ca. 1.5 mm high, glabrous; limb 1.2-1.7 mm long, lobes valvate, semi-circular to triangular, glandular apiculate, ciliolate, 0.5-0.7 mm long; corolla often tinged violet, 5-6 mm long, deeply 5-lobed, lobeselliptic, ciliolate or totally glabrous; stamens 20-40; disc annular or shortly cylindrical, glabrous; style glabrous, 5-7 mm long; ovary 3-locular. Fruits narrowly ovoid, often slightly curved, crowned by persisten calyx lobes; 10-13 mm long, 4-5 mm wide.

Endemic, 200-2,300 m altitude.

Evergreen shrubs. Twigs brown, terete; young twigs, green, slender, ridged, glabrous. Terminal buds glabrous or pilose at apex, ovate or subulate with curved apex, margin of scales ciliate. Leaves: blades chartaceous narrowly elliptic or oblong, glaucous beneath, 6-8 cm long, 1-3 cm wide, apex caudate with apiculate tip, base attenuate, margin slightly recurved, crenate with teeth, 1-2 mm apart; both surfaces glabrous; midrib impressed above, prominent beneath, nerves 4-7 pairs meeting in an intramarginal vein, slightly prominent beneath; petioles glabrous, 5-8 mm long. Inflorescence axillary, forming a globose cone in buds, matured inflorescence unknown, but probably a short-pedicelled raceme with caducous bracts and bracteoles, axis densely sericaceous; bracts orbicular to obovate, 4-5 mm long, 3.5-4 mm wide, apex rounded or emarginate with apiculate tip, margin long ciliate, adaxially glabrous, abaxially densely sericaceous; bracteoles lanceolate to linear, 3-3.5 mm long, apex obtuse, adaxially glabrous, abaxially densely sericaceous. Flowers: calyx tube glabrous, sometimes hairy only at the base; calyx limb 5-lobed to the base; calyx lobes ovate to triangular, apex acute or obtuse, glabrous or sometimes hairy at the apical part; corolla deeply 5-lobed, glabrous; stamens ca. 25, connate at base; disk annular, glabrous; ovary 3-locular. Fruits unknown.

Endemic. Only two specimens known.
