SYNONYMS
HABIT DESCRIBE
A glabrous scandent vine from tuber; underground tuber ovate, calabash-like, usually string by ovate, calabash-like tubers; epidermis dark-brown; flesh brown, ca. 3 cm in diameter, up to 15 cm long; aerial stems , terete, ca. 2-3mm, dextrorse, branched, herberous or slightly woodly, rigid, yellow-green, brown; raise from a corm-structure which ca. 3-5 mm in diameter; with prickly; never aerial tuber. Leaves alternate ovate-lanceoleted, ca. 9.5-12 cm long, ca. 2.5-4.5 cm wide, acuminate at apex, sagittate or cordate at base, herberous, green or yellow-green; nerves 7; veins prominent and convex on lower surface; petiole ca. 4-8 cm long, 1-1.5mm thick, twisted and dilteled at base, prickly, sulcate above; pulvinus bearing 2-3 curvered prickies. Usually with black or dark-brown specks on leaves or stems.
Infloresences and fruits unobserved.
Endemic. Distributed in Taiwan
The flowers and fruits has never been seen.
