台湾鼠刺　Itea oldhamii Schneid.

常绿灌木，稀小乔木；小枝粗壮，幼枝被疏短柔毛，老枝无毛。叶厚革质，卵形至卵状长椭圆形，长6-9 (12) 厘米，宽3.5-5.5厘米，先端急尖或渐尖，稀钝，基部钝或楔形，边缘具每边2-10个粗齿或稀全缘；侧脉5-7对，弧状上升，中脉上面下陷，下面突起，有不明显的网状脉，两面无毛；叶柄长5-8毫米，无毛。总状花序腋生或顶生，长3-5厘米，被柔毛；苞片长1-2毫米；花梗长2-4毫米，开展，被短柔毛；花多数，单生或2个簇生；萼筒浅杯状；萼片三角状披针形，长约为花瓣之半；花瓣白色，披针形，长2.5毫米，宽约1毫米；雄蕊略长于花瓣；花丝有毛；花药椭圆状球形；子房上位，被短柔毛。蒴果锥状，长5-6毫米，微被毛，基部有宿存萼片。

A shrub or small tree; branchlets stout, the young branchlets sparsely pilose. Leaves coriaceous, glabrous, ovate to ovate-oblong, 6-9 cm long, 4-5 cm broad, short acute to acuminate or obtuse at apex, obtuse to acute at base, remotely few dentate, rarely subentire, the teeth large, 2 to 10 per side, sometimes 2 or 3 toward the upper margins only, acute, up to 4-5 mm long and 7-8 mm broad at base, the midrib impressed above, much raised beneath, the lateral veins 5-7 per side, arcuate-ascending; petioles about 1 cm long. Inflorescence an axillary or terminal raceme, 3-5 cm long, often pubescent, the pedicels 2-4 mm long, spreading; petals white, lanceolate, about 2.5 mm long and 1 mm broad. Capsules 5-6 mm long, about 2 mm across at base, slightly pubescent, with persistent sepals.

常绿灌木或小乔木，高达5米；小枝纤细，无毛或变无毛。叶膜质或薄纸质，披针形至长圆状披针形，长8-12厘米，宽2.5-3.5厘米，先端渐尖或近尾状尖，基部楔形或稀钝，边缘多少具小圆齿状锯齿或呈波状，稀全缘，上面暗绿色或褐色，下面淡绿色，两面均无毛，脉腋内有不明显的髯毛；中脉上面微凹，下面突起，侧脉5-8对，弧状弯曲，横脉明显网状；叶柄纤细，长1-1.5 (2) 厘米。腋生总状花序；花序轴无毛，或有疏毛；花多数，较密集；花梗细，长2-3毫米，无毛，基部有线状钻形苞片，稍开展；萼筒浅漏斗状，萼片三角形，无毛；花瓣白色，狭卵状披针形，长约2毫米，宽0.5-1毫米，顶端尖，无毛；雄蕊略长于花瓣或与花瓣等长；花丝有柔毛；花药长圆状球形；子房上位，被疏柔毛。蒴果长约4.5毫米，被疏短柔毛。花果期5-6月。

A shrub up to 5 m high, glabrous or glabrescent, the branches slender. Leaves membranaceous, lanceolate to oblong-lanceolate, 8-12 cm long, 2.5-3.5 cm broad, acuminate, sometimes subcaudate, cuneate at base, entire or subundulate to more or less minutely crenate-serrulate, dark above, pale beneath, the midrib slightly impressed above, raised beneath, the veins 5 or 6 per side, conspicuous beneath, arcuate-ascending, the veinlets transverse, reticulate; petioles slender, 1-2 cm long. Inflorescence a slender axillary raceme to 5 cm long, many-flowered, glabrous or sometimes puberulous, the pedicels slender, about 2 mm long; petals narrowly ovate-lanceolate, about 2 mm long, 1 mm broad. Capsules about 4.5 mm long, 1.5 mm across, slightly puberulous, many-seeded.
