9. Viburnum odoratissimum Ker 珊瑚樹
Large shrubs to small trees, to 10 m tall, evergreen; branchlets puberulous or glabrous. Leaves coriaceous, glabrous, obovate to elliptic, 7-14 cm long, apex obtuse to rounded, base cuneate, entire or sparingly sinuate-dentate, glandular, sometimes slightly pubescent in axils beneath, midrib distinct on upper surface, raised on lower surface, lateral veins 4 or 5 per side, pinnate, indistinct on upper surface, raised on lower surface, reticulations indistinct; petiole stout, 1-2 cm long. Inflorescences corymbose cymes, 5-10 cm across, glabrous, peduncle longer than inflorescence; pedicel 1-2 mm long; bracts lanceolate, pubescent; teeth of calyx limb shallow, triangular; corolla white, lobes elliptic, 3-4 mm long. Fruits oblong, red to black, ca. 10 mm long and 5 mm across.
India, Indochina, southern China to the Philippines. Taiwan, in the southern part, 300-1,500 m.
