8. Viburnum luzonicum Rolfe　呂宋莢迷

Shrubs or small trees, deciduous; branchlets pubescent. Leaves chartaceous, ovate on fertile branchlets, 5-8 cm long, 3-4.5 cm broad, apex acuminate or acute, base acute, serrate, upper surface glabrescent, minutely glandular, lower surface stellate tomentose, oblong to elliptic on sterile branchlets, 3-6 cm long, 2-4 cm broad, shallowly dentate, upper surface pubescent to glabrescent and minutely glandular, lower surface densely stellate tomentose; midrib and veins impressed on upper surface, raised on lower surface; lateral veins 7 or more per side, straight-ascending, ending in marginal teeth, reticulation indistinct on upper surface, distinct on lower surface; petiole 5-10 mm long, pubescent. Inflorescences compound cymes, broad, rusty tomentose, terminating on lateral branchlets. Flowers white, ca. 3 mm across; calyx pubescent; corolla rotate, 5-lobed, lobes spreading. Fruits red, globose, 4-5 mm across.

Indochina, China, the Philippine and Malaysia. Taiwan, very common at low elevations throughout the island.
