3. MONESES Salisb. 單花鹿蹄草屬
Small, perennial, glabrous, stoloniferous herbs. Leaves radical, petiolate, serrulate, coriaceous. Flower terminal, solitary, pedunculate, white or pink; calyx 5- rarely 4-parted, persistent; petals 5, rarely 4, patent, orbicular; stamens 10, rarely 8; filaments subulate, base glabrous; anthers 2-1ocular, dehiscing by terminal pores; disc obscure; ovary globose; style straight, apex clavate, stigma 5-toothed; ovules on thickened placentas on inner angles of loculi. Capsule subglobose, 5-1ocular, 5-valved, valves septate; seeds small, testa loosely reticulate at both ends.
