3. Vaccinium emarginatum Hayata　凹葉越橘

Epiphytic shrubs; young shoots glabrous. Leaves thick coriaceous, ovate-oblong, 3-5 cm long, 1.5-2 cm broad, apex rounded or emarginate, base cuneate, margin entire, recurved, often glaucous on upper surface, brownish on lower surface, midrib raised on upper surface, prominent on lower surface, lateral veins ca. 4 pairs, inconspicuous; petiole 2-3 mm long. Flowers 2-5 in axillary racemes or fascicles; pedicel 5-10 mm long, glabrous; calyx lobes lanceolate; corolla ca. 6 mm long, shallowly 5-lobed, glabrous; stamens 10, anthers spurred, filaments villous. Fruit a globose berry, ca. 5 mm across.

Endemic. Common on trees in broad-leaved forests, 2,000-3,500 m.
