10. Euonymus trichocarpus Hayata in Journ. Coll. Sci. Univ. Tokyo 25: 19. 1908. 卵葉刺果衛矛 Pl.337

Epiphytic or scandent shrubs; branchlets subterete to subtetragonous. Leaves chartaceous or membranaceous, ovate to broadly ovate, 4.5-6.5 cm long, 2.5-3.5 cm wide, acute to cuspidate acute at the apex, obtuse to rotund at the base, crenulate serrulate, the lateral veins distinct and elevated beneath; petioles about 5 mm long. Flowers in axillary simple cymes, light yellowish green; peduncles about 1.5 cm long; bracteoles ciliate; disc echinate. Fruit subglobose, 0.6-0.8 cm across, densely short spined, brown at maturity.

Endemic. Sporadically distributed from low to medium altitudes of this island.
