2. Celastrus kusanoi Hayata　 大葉南蛇藤

Scandent shrubs; branchlets glabrous to pubescent. Leaves chartaceous, broadly elliptic to nearly orbicular, 7-10 cm long, 5.5-11 cm wide, rounded and shortly cuspidate, the margings obscurely serrate; petioles 2.5 cm long. Inflorescence axillary or occasionally terminal, a dense compound cyme, multiflowered, pubescent; peduncles 1.5-2 cm long, Fruit a globose capsule, 8-10 mm long.

South China and Hainan. Taiwan, in central and southern parts in forests at low to medium altitudes (300-2500 m).
