3. GYMNOPETALUM Arn. 裸瓣瓜屬

Perennial vines; stems often with suffrutescent bases, branches herbaceous; tendrils simple or rarely bifid; leaves simple, cordate, angular 3-5-lobed; monoecious or dioecious. Flowers yellow or white; perianth tube elongate, tubular, contracted near the mouth; calyx lobes 5, segments subulate; corolla actinomorphic, rotate, lobes 5, segments ovate to oblong. Staminate flowers in axillary racemose or rarely single flowered, ebracteate or with minute bracts; stamens 3, free, inserted in the middle of perianth tube, with short filaments, anthers connate, one 1-locular, the others 2-locular, loculi triplicate to s-shaped; pistillodes erect. Pistillate flowers solitary; staminodes 3, linear; ovary ovoid to oblong, style filiform, stigmas 3, linear. Fruits a berry, fusiform, beaked. Seeds few, elliptical, compressed, marginate. Type Species: Gymnopetalum ceylonicum Arn.
