直立草本。3出複葉，中央小葉長於5 cm，兩側小葉歪斜，3深裂或不裂。
全島中高海拔山區，林緣、路邊或開闊地。

Perennial erect pubescent herbs, 30-120 cm tall. Leaves ternate, radical (6.0-)6.3-11.6(-14.3) cm long, (4.6-)4.7-7.9(-8.6) cm wide, elliptic or ovate, apex acute, base obtuse, truncate or acute; lateral leaves oblique, ternately divided or unlobed; puberulous on adaxial surface, tomentose on abaxial ?surface; petioles 5.5-36.0 cm long. Inflorescence a compound dichasium; pedicels 6.5-17.8 cm long; bracts 2 or 3, opposite or whorled, ternately divided or sometimes palmate, pubescent on both sides; petiolate. Flowers 25-38 mm in diam., white. Sepals 5 or more, unequal, 10-20 mm long, 10-18 mm wide, ovate, broadly elliptic or obovate; apex acute or retuse; imbricate; glabrous on adaxial side, pubescent on abaxial side. Stamens numerous, anthers 2-8 mm long, elliptic-globose; filaments linear. Carpels numerous; styles pilose. Achenes 2.5-3.5 mm long, ovate-globose, many, pilose; subsessile; aggregate in a globose head Northern Myanmar (Burma), Bhutan, Nepal, northern India, Sikkim, mainland China and Taiwan. In Taiwan widely distributed in open places between 800 and 3,200 m.

This taxon is very similar to A. hupehensis Lem. And A. tomentosa (Maxim.) Pei, differing only in hair pattern on the abaxial leaf surface (densely velutinous and tomentose) and flower color (white, pale pink and pink). However, such characters are variable and overlap on the same individual. We have not seen many specimens from the mainland so we will continue to recognize A. vitifolia even though the Taiwanese plants have been treated as A. hupehensis f. alba (Wang, 1974, 1980). This complex needs further investigation.

植株高60-100釐米。根狀莖斜，木質，粗0.8-1.5釐米。基生葉2-5 ,有長柄；葉片心狀卵形或心狀寬卵形，長(5.2-)11-22釐米，寬(6-) 12-26釐米，頂端急尖3-5淺裂，邊緣有小牙齒，表面疏被短糙毛，背面密被白色短絨毛；葉柄長(6.5-) 25-60釐米，有柔毛。花葶粗壯，有密或疏的柔毛；聚傘花序長20-60釐米，2-4回分枝；苞片3，形狀似基生葉，但較小，有柄（長1.4-7釐米）；花梗長3.5-5.5釐米，密被短絨毛；萼片5，白色或帶粉紅色，倒卵形，長1.4-1.8釐米，寬8-13毫米，外面有白色絨毛；雄蕊長約為萼片長度的1/4，花絲絲形；心皮約400，子房密被綿毛。聚合果球形，直徑約1.5釐米；瘦果有細柄，長約3.5毫米，密被綿毛。7月至10月開花。
在我國分佈于雲南（海拔1200-2700米）、四川西南部（米易，海拔1800米）、西藏東南部和南部(2200-2700米）。生山地草坡、溝邊或疏林中。在緬甸北部、不丹、錫金、 尼泊爾、印度北部也有分佈。
