4. VISCUM L. 槲寄生屬

Leaves opposite, simple, entire or reduced to scales (present in seedling only). Flowers unisexual, small or minute, solitary or fascicled in leaf axils or at the branch nodes; perianth tube of staminate flowers solid, of pistillate flowers adnate to ovary; limb 3- or 4-partite, segments usually deciduous; anthers broad, ovate or oblong, sessile, adnate to perianth lobes, opening by many pores; ovary inferior; stigma sessile or subsessile, large, pulvinate. Fruit succulent; pericarp viscid; embryo in fleshy endosperm, solitary or 2 in each seed. Species about 50, temperate and tropical, four in Taiwan.
