1. Eurya acuminata DC 銳葉柃木
Shrub; branchlets slender, lanate or pilose. Leaves chartaceous, lanceolate or oblong-lanceolate, 5-8 cm long, 1.5-2 cm wide, upper surface glabrous, apex caudate-acuminate, obtuse or retused at the summit, base obtuse, margins serrulate in upper half, pilose beneath; petiole 2-3 mm long, pubescent. Flowers axillary, fascicled; pedicels 2-3 mm long, pubescent; sepals rounded, 1.5-2 mm long, glabrous; petals obovate-oblong, glabrous; male flowers: stamens 10-15, the filaments 2 mm long; female flowers: ovary glabrous, ovoid; styles 3, more or less connate, 1.5-2 mm long, glabrous. Fruits ovoid, 3-4 mm in diameter.
India, Sri Lanka, Java, Sumatra, Malay Peninsula, the Philippines and Taiwan. Taiwan, in southern part of the island at medium altitudes.

A shrub; branchlets slender, pubescent. Leaves chartaceous, lanceolate or oblong-lanceolate, 5.5-8 cm long, 1.5-2 cm broad, the upper surface glabrous, the apex caudate-acuminate, obtuse or retuse at the summit, the base obtuse, the margins serrulate; petioles 2-3 mm long. Flowers axillary, fascieled; pedicels 2 mm long. Fruits ovoid, 4 mm long, 3 mm across.
Indo-Malaya to S. China. Taiwan, throughout the island at low and medium altitudes (700-2,700 m).

This variety differs from the typical form of the species chiefly in the pubescent ovary.
Endemic, known only from Mt. Alishan and Yushan (1,666-3,000 m). CHIAYI: Mt. Alishan, faurie 1327; Mt. Morrison, Wilson 10938.

Leaves ovate-oblong, 6-8 cm long, 2.5-3 cm broad, the apex caudate-acuminate, the base obtuse or rounded. Endemic.

尾尖叶柃 Eurya acuminata DC.
灌木或小乔木;嫩枝纤细,灰褐色或红褐色,密被短柔毛;顶芽锥形,密被短柔毛。叶纸质或薄革质,披针形、长圆状披针形或狭椭圆形,长5.5-9.5厘米,宽1.5-2.5厘米,顶端尾状渐尖,尖头钝,基部楔形,边缘有细锯齿,上面绿色,稍有光泽,无毛,下面淡绿色,被短柔毛,中脉在上面稍凹下,下面凸起,侧脉两面均不甚明显或在下面稍明显,网脉两面不明显;叶柄长3-6毫米,被短柔毛。花1-3朵簇生于叶腋,花梗长2-3毫米。雄花:小苞片2,圆形;萼片5,几圆形,近革质,长约2-2.5毫米,顶端钝,外面被短柔毛;花瓣5,白色,长圆形或卵圆形,长3.5-4毫米;雄蕊15-20枚,花药不具分格;退化子房无毛。雌花的小苞片、萼片和花瓣与雄花同,但较小,子房圆球形,无毛,通常3室,花柱长2-73毫米,顶端3-5浅裂或深裂。果实圆球形,直径3-4毫米。花期11-12月。
产于我国台湾(台北、台中、南投、嘉义、台东、阿里山)、云南东南部(屏边)、西藏南部(墨脱)等地;多生于海拔700-2700米的山坡疏林或灌丛中。越南、缅甸、尼泊尔、印度、斯里兰卡、马来半岛及印度尼西亚等地也有分布。模式标本采自印度。

Shrubs or small trees. Young branches grayish brown, glabrous; current year branchlets reddish brown, densely pubescent; terminal buds densely pubescent. Petiole 3-6 mm, pubescent; leaf blade lanceolate, oblong-lanceolate, or rarely ovate-oblong, 5.5-9.5 × 1.5-2.5 cm, papery to thinly leathery, abaxially pale green and pubescent, adaxially green, shiny, and glabrous, midvein abaxially elevated and adaxially slightly impressed, secondary veins more than 15 on each side of midvein and visible or slightly raised on both surfaces, base cuneate, obtuse, or rounded, margin serrulate, apex caudate-acuminate and with an obtuse tip. Flowers axillary, solitary or to 3 in a cluster. Pedicel 2-3 mm, pubescent. Male flowers: bracteoles orbicular, ca. 1 mm; sepals 2-2.5 mm, subleathery, outside pubescent, apex obtuse; petals oblong to ovate, 3.5-4 mm; stamens 15-20; anthers not locellate; pistillode glabrous. Female flowers: bracteoles, sepals, and petals similar to those of male flowers but slightly smaller; ovary globose, glabrous, 3-loculed; style 2-3 mm, apically 3-5-lobed or parted. Fruit globose, 3-4 mm in diam. Fl. Nov-Dec, fr. Jun-Aug. 2n = 58.
