5. Polygala tatarinowii Regel 小扁豆

An erect herb, to 12 cm high. Leaves petiolate, ovate, 1-2 cm long, 1-1.5 cm wide, mucronulate at apex, obtuse at base, the margins ciliate; petioles up to 7 mm long. Flowers in terminal racemes or helicoid cymes, about 1.5-6 cm long; peduncles up to 4 cm long; flowers small, 2 mm long; pedicels 1.2 mm long. Capsules flat, reniform, 2 mm long, 3 mm wide.

India, mainland China, the Philippines, N. Burma, Kashimir and Japan. Taiwan, in the southern and central parts of the island.
