3. Celastrus paniculatus Willd. 多花滇南蛇藤
Evergreen shrubs, scandent. Leaves thickly coriaceous, alternate, obovate oblong, 5-6.5 cm long, 2.5-4 cm wide, obtuse or emarginate, the margins remotely crenulate; petioles 8 mm long. Compound cymes terminal or axillary, the terminal ones 5-10 cm long, the axillary ones 1-2 cm long, the peduncles 1-2 cm long, 2-3 branched. Capsule subglobose, 7-9 mm across.
The species is widely distributed in India, Malaysia, Thailand, Indo-China, and China. Taiwan, in thickets and forests of Hengchun Peninsula.

灯油藤 Celastrus paniculatus Willd.
常綠藤本灌木，高達10米；小枝被毛或光滑，皮孔橢圓形，通常密生，稀不顯著；腋芽小，三角形，長1-1.5毫米。葉橢圓形、長方橢圓形、長方形、闊卵形、倒卵形至近圓形，長5-10釐米，寬2.5-5釐米，先端短尖至漸尖，基部楔形較圓，邊緣鋸齒狀，葉兩面光滑，稀在葉背脈腋處有微毛，側脈5-7對；葉柄長6-16毫米；托葉線形，早落。聚傘圓錐花序頂生，長5-10釐米，上部分枝與下部分枝近等長，稍平展，花序梗及小花梗偶被短絨毛，小花梗長3-6毫米，關節位於基部；花淡綠色；花萼5裂，覆瓦狀排列，半圓形，具緣毛；花瓣長方形至倒卵長方形，長2-3毫米，寬1.2-1.8毫米；花盤厚膜質杯狀，不明顯5裂；雄蕊長約3毫米，著生花盤邊緣，在雌花中雄蕊退化，長約1毫米；子房近球狀，在雄花中退化成短棒狀。蒴果球狀，直徑達1釐米，具3-6種子；種子橢圓狀，兩端稍尖，長3.5-5.5毫米，直徑2-5毫米。花期4-6月，果期6-9月。
產于臺灣、廣東、海南、廣西、貴州、雲南。生長于海拔200-2000米的叢林地帶。分佈南達印度。模式標本采自印度。
