2. Maytenus emarginata (Willd.) Ding Hou 蘭嶼裸實
Small shrubs. Leaves obovate to cuneate obovate, 3.5-5 cm long, 1.7-3.3 cm wide, coriaceous, rounded at the apex, the margings remotely crenate; petioles about 4 mm long. Cymes axillary; peduncles 1-1.5 cm long. Flowers white; calyx lobes deltoid; petals obovate oblong or oblong, obtuse, entire; stamens inserted beneath the disc margin, the anthers broadly ovoid; ovary 3-celled, the style very short, the stigmas 3. Capsule trilocular, dehiscing into 3 valves, the valves broadly rounded, 5 mm long; seeds ellipsoid, red.
Ceylon, and SE. Asia to N. Queensland. Known in open areas or low thickets along seashore of the islet Lanyu and S. Cape.

12.臺灣美登木 Maytenus emarginata (Willd.) D. Hou
小灌木；小枝灰褐色，具淺縱溝，未見有刺。葉稍革質，倒卵形，長約5釐米，寬約3釐米，先端圓闊或近平截，基部楔形，邊緣具疏淺鈍齒或淺齒或近全緣，齒凹有時有黑色腺狀小點，側脈極細弱，4-6對；葉柄粗壯，長3-5毫米。聚傘花序單生， 1-2次分枝，花芽幼小，未見開花。蒴果2-3裂，近圓球狀，基部窄縮，直徑7-8毫米（未甚成熟），頂端常有宿存花柱；種子長方橢圓狀，長約3毫米，種皮棕紅色，基部有細小假種皮。
產於我國臺灣（鼓佳嶼、紅頭嶼）。生長於濱海之處。模式標本采自臺灣。
