5. SAGERETIA Brongn. 雀梅藤屬

Unarmed or spinose shrubs, with slender subscandent or rigid opposite or subopposite branches. Leaves subopposite, penninerved, the nerves arched. Flowers very small, sessile on the terminal leafless panicles; calyx 5-fid, the tube hemispherical, the lobes acute, keeled within; petals 5, clawed, hooded; stamens 5, equaling the petals; disc cup-shaped, lining the calyx-tube, the margin free, 5-lobed; ovary sunk in the disc, but free from it, 2-3-celled, the style short, 3-grooved, the stigmas capitate. Fruit globose, 2-3-celled, 2-3-seeded, coriaceous, indehiscent.
