1. Acmena acuminatissima (Blume) Merr. & Perry 賽赤楠
An evergreen medium tree, branchlets slightly 4-angular. Leaves opposite or sometimes subalternate, ?subcoriaceous to coriaceous, elliptic to ovate or obovate, cuspidato-acuminate at apex, acute or attenuate at base, 5.5-6.5 cm long, 2.5-3 cm broad, glabrous, margin entire, midrib impressed above, elevated below, lateral veins 8-10 on each side of midrib, subconspicuous; petioles 3-8 mm long. Flowers small, short-pedicelled; panicle cymose, glabrous, terminal or axillary; peduncles strongly 4-angular; calyx black when dry, tube turbinate, about 3 mm long, 2 mm broad at the apex; petals small; stamens numerous, glabrous, filaments very short, about 1 mm long, anthers globose, opening by a terminal pore. Fruit globose, glabrous, reddish purple when ripe, 1.2-1.5 cm in diameter, apex depressed. Seed coats adhering to the pericarp.
Southern China, Burma and Thailand to the Philippines. Taiwan, known only from Lanyu.

肖蒲桃 Acmena acuminatissima (Blume) Merr. et Perry
喬木，高20米；嫩枝圓形或有鈍棱。葉片革質，卵狀披針形或狹披針形，長5-12釐米，寬1-3.5釐米，先端尾狀漸尖，尾長2釐米，基部闊楔形，上面幹後暗色，多油腺點，側，脈多而密，彼此相隔3毫米，以，65度-70度開角緩斜向上，在上面不明顯，在下面能見，邊脈離邊緣1.5毫米；葉柄長5-8毫米。聚傘花序排成圓錐花序，長3-6釐米，頂生，花序軸有棱；花3朵聚生，有短柄；花蕾倒卵形，長3-4毫米，上部圓，下部楔形；萼管倒圓錐形，萼齒不明顯，萼管上緣向內彎；花瓣小，長1毫米，白色；雄蕊極短。漿果球形，直徑1.5釐米，成熟時黑紫色；種子1個。花期7 -10月。
產廣東、廣西等省區。生於低海拔至中海拔林中。分佈至中南半島、馬來西亞、印度、印度尼西亞、菲律賓等地。
