1. Decaspermum gracilentum (Hance) Merr. & Perry　十子木

An evergreen shrub, densely branched, young branchlets and buds pubescent. Leaves opposite, coriaceous, ovate-oblong to oblong-lanceolate, caudato-acuminate at apex, acute at base, 4-4.5 cm long, 1.2-1.5 cm broad, shining above, copiously glandular-punctate beneath, midrib elevated on both surfaces, lateral veins inconspicuous; petioles about 3 mm long. Flowers polygamous, in short axillary or terminal cymes, pedicels villous, 3-4 mm long; calyx campanulate, villous, 3-4-lobed, segments triangular, subtended by two small bracts, bracts ovate; petals 3 or 4, small, 3-4 mm broad, hairy along the margin; stamens numerous, twisted; ovary 4-celled, each 2-ovuled. Fruit a globose berry, 4-6 mm in diameter, 4-5 sulcate, crowned with the calyx-lobes; seeds 3-4.

Southeastern China. Taiwan, in Forests of Hengchun Peninsula and Lanyu.
