1. Otanthera scaberrima (Hayata) Ohwi　糙葉耳藥花

An erect shrub; stem with stiff appressed hairs. Leaves ovate or lanceolate, 5-nerved, 2.2-5.5 cm long, 1-2.2 cm broad, obtuse at apex, rounded to acute at base, slightly serrate at margin, with long stiff appressed hairs at both surfaces; petioles about 2 mm long. Flowers in terminal cymes or dichasium; peduncles sessile to 6 mm long. Calyx 6 mm long, with appressed hairs outside; petals obovate, 10 mm long; stamens 8, subequal; ovary, globose, 5-celled. Fruit globous, 6-7 mm long, with stiff appressed hairs.

Endemic, throught out the island in roadside or hill slope at altitude 100-2,500 m.
