Stout perennial herb, glabrous throughout. Bulbs narrowly cylindrical, up to 30 cm long and 10–15 cm in diam. Leaves basal, linear-lanceolate, 50–120 × 6–10(–15) cm, apex shortly acuminate, sharply pointed, margin entire, dark green; midvein impressed adaxially, keeled abaxially. Scape solid, 0.6–1 m. Umbel 10–20-flowered; involucres 2, broadly lanceolate, 7–12.5 × 3.5–4.5 cm, green, herbaceous; bracts linear, 7–11 cm × 3–5 mm, membranous. Flowers white, fragrant; pedicels 0.5–2 cm. Perianth salverform; tube greenish white, straight, 6–9 cm; segments linear-lanceolate, 6 –8 cm × 6–10 mm, apex acuminate. Stamens 6, subequal; filament ca. 4 cm, purplish apically; anther linear, 1.5–2 cm. Style filiform, slightly shorter than stamens, declinate. Capsule subglobose, 3–5 cm in diam.
