花单独顶生,红色,直径5-10厘米,无柄,苞被未分化,10-21片,花后脱落;花瓣5-12片,高度连生;雄蕊多轮,外轮花丝连生成管;子房3室,稀5室,多数被毛,稀秃净;花柱连生,稀离生,先端3-5浅裂,果实大,每室有种子1-5个。
